People have lots of different hacks to make an article have read more in blogger! These hacks really mess things up and unless you have a degree in HTML don’t do it. It really is not worth it.

Now I am going to bypass all the technical bull! This process is very simple and can be used on either the new blogger text editor or the old blogger text editor. So if you are ready lets learn how to make a long post into a short post…
Fist off – we all have that post from hades, that is as long as three or 4 posts put together.
The picture above is a junk post that is very long, about three times what you see on the picture. People have a problem with super long posts on the front page and they sometimes get cranky at all the scrolling.That is a big complaint about a blog.
This next picture is of the additional html that blogger wants to see before it creates a read more for you.
The line that is highlighted in the picture is what you put in your post and blogger will do its magic for you. Blogger has this already on the new editor and that is fine but if you are like me and dislike the new editor, but still like to use read more then just use this trick and blogger will do the work for you. Remember to install this tidbit of code where ever you want the post to be cut off at.
